Cognitive Training

Effective treatment for cognitive dysfunction

Do you have trouble concentrating while at work? Does your child struggle to concentrate in the classroom?

If so, you and your child deserve a safe, non-invasive treatment that will help you succeed now and in the future.

With help from Focal Points, you can join hundreds of clients who have already improved their attention thanks to cognitive training.

What is cognitive training?

Cognitive training is a customized, non-invasive therapy that helps clients combat ADHD and enhance specific cognitive skills through brain-based learning techniques without the use of medication. Unlike neurofeedback, most of the cognitive training is done at home.

ADHD treatment and beyond

In addition to treating ADHD, cognitive training can help improve the following:

  • Memory
  • Visual processing
  • Auditory processing
  • Listening skills
  • Reading skills
  • Self-control
  • Processing speed

How Focal Points uses cognitive training

At Focal Points, we work with children and adults who (1) have had limited or no success with common medical treatments and/or (2) seek an alternative solution that does not rely on pharmaceuticals.

  • You are evaluated by our experienced therapists, who assign you a computer program to use for at-home training.
  • You practice daily exercises using an assigned computer program, such as MindPower Builder.
  • Your therapist interprets your results and recommends the type and frequency of programs you should continue to use for at-home training.

Cognitive training benefits

What benefits do clients receive from cognitive training? Depending on your program, you can expect improvements in memory, attention, visual and auditory processing, listening skills, reading skills, self-control, processing speed, and other cognitive functions.

Do you struggle with attention or memory? Does your child need to improve his reading skills or processing speed?

You can do cognitive training in the comfort of your home while improving your skills.
